Francis ... I come from a family of professional artists, although I always believed that I had no artistic talents whatsoever. I am completely self taught and only started painting about 6 or 7 years ago, when I had to teach crafts to students. Inspired by a couple of friends who painted beautiful animal portraits, I sort of fell into starting with trying gouache and acrylic paints, however as soon as I discovered colour pencils I was blown away by their versatility. I draw almost every day and try to learn and improve with each picture. I draw under my maiden name which is Francis Harley only because that is what my mother did !! Francis |
