‘A Calming Breeze at Bystock’
Acrylic on Canvas |
Cynthea ... Cynthea Gregory was initially trained as an art teacher at Reading University. She left teaching to live in central France. There, she ran a Bed and Breakfast, and she had little to time follow her artistic career. On returning to Britain over twenty years later, she felt inspired by the local Devon landscape and picked up her paint brushes again. Cynthea draws her inspiration from exploring the coastline and landscape of principally East Devon. Initially, she makes a careful study, sketches and a library of photos for each of her works. Her canvases are stylised, making them generally semi- abstract, but recognisable. She loves to share the atmosphere and mood of her discoveries by the use of her vibrant colour palette. She has recently exhibited at solo and small group exhibitions, as well as with Art Societies in Exmouth and Sidmouth. |
